Richie Cowan is a mean guitar picker and vocalist. He’s been supplying his soulful and bluesy lead and slide guitar to various bands he’s played with over the years here in Santa Cruz. Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Reverend Gary Davis, Big Bill Broonzy, Willie McTell, Blind Man Blake and numerous other legendary acoustic guitar players all figure into his funky mix of blues guitar. He hosted the Blues Jam in Capitola for many years at the Fogbank, and co-wrote the songs on Jewl’s CD “Harp in Heaven”.
Jewl Sandoval, a California native, has been rock'n the Bay Area and Santa Cruz for several years. He's written a number of blues tunes, produced three CDs, and has hosted countless blues jams. In the process he has mixed it up with many of today's blues stars, Coco Montoya for one. His blues harp and soulful vocal style has brought smiles to folks of all ages.
Terry Shields years of experience includes countless recording sessions and performances in every musical situation. Originally from Chicago, he began performing on bass professionally at age fourteen, and has continued on to pay his dues in rock, country, dance, acoustic, metal, and jazz bands. His beloved upright bass and harmony vocal ability have made him a favorite accompanist for acoustic acts throughout the west coast for the past 17 years.
