Terry Riversong and Terry Shields were such a wonderful addition to our party, it just wouldn't have been the same without them! Such talented musicians and wonderful to work with, just about everyone commented on how great the music was, and what a great atmosphere they created. Truly great performers, we would HIGHLY recommend Riversong and Shields.

Terry Riversong and Terry Shields , together with their band, performed beautifully at our wedding. All of our guests loved their music. They even did a wonderful job with a few of our favorite songs, which they learned specially for our wedding. As a duet, Terry and Terry sound great, making our first dance one of the most memorable moments of the reception. Together with the full band, they got the rest of the crowd jumping. We very much appreciated their flexibility and "low-key" approach-- tailoring music appropriately to the mood of the crowd, keeping the evening as our wedding celebration, not just another gig. We give the Duo Riversong and Shields, and the Band our highest recommendation.

"Steve and I had been dating just two weeks, and it was time to introduce him to some of my friends. We met at the Shadowbrook Restaurant for drinks and to listen to music one Saturday night in October, 1999. That was the first time we had heard Terry Riversong perform and it seemed we liked each song better than the last. What an evening! We joked that if we ever had a "special event" together in the future that we would have to look Terry up…

Two years later, Steve and I were married to the music of Terry Riversong and Terry Shields in a ceremony at the Shadowbrook Restaurant. During the planning process, Terry was easy-going and really listened to our requests. We concluded 3 different set-up locations throughout the Shadowbrook Restaurant were needed during our wedding day. Although this could have made for a potentially complicated situation, we were confident from the start that music was one part of the wedding planning process that we didn't have to worry about. We were in more than capable hands. Terry was professional, flexible, caring, and played music that was enjoyable to our family and friends spanning 3 generations.

Our wedding took place on a beautifully sunny autumn morning and lasted into the afternoon; 11am-3:30p. A half-hour before the ceremony began and as our guests arrived, Terry and Terry played light instrumental music from the greenery next to the patio. What an enjoyable way for our guests to arrive to such a beautiful place. The atmosphere was relaxed with a touch of "special" in the air and the music nicely complimented the surroundings.

The music stopped briefly for our wedding officiate, groomsmen, and groom to enter and take their places on the patio steps, and then instrumental music was performed for the bridesmaids, flower girls, and eventually, the bride, for each of the entrances. At the end of the ceremony we were pronounced married and the duo played "Watching the River Run" (a Kenny Loggins favorite). Our family and friends applauded as the celebratory music began. We walked down the steps arm in arm, smiling from ear to ear during our first few moments as a married couple.

Immediately after the ceremony ended, our guests enjoyed light hors 'dourves and beverages on the patio while listening to more light instrumental music from Terry and Terry. Soon, we were called inside to be seated for lunch, and the duo followed along with their equipment. They set up in a place where they could be best heard by everyone and they proceeded to play enjoyable lunch music. We were able to have conversations in average speaking voices, and yet, it was so nice to hear the background music.

Soon it was time for the cake cutting and dancing upstairs in the Rock Room. The duo set up in there at their final destination, and added a third, Don Rutter. The 3 of them really got us all out there and dancing! My aunt and uncle were out there on the dance floor; something no other relatives present, including their children, had ever seen! Even my almost 80 year-old grandmother was dancing…video cameras documented moments that may never be seen again.

What we liked most about Terry Riversong is that from the start, he listened to what we wanted and when we asked, he provided suggestions about music selection and logistics. Terry was caring, professional, and delivered a quality performance. The duo in the earlier part of the day, and then the addition of the 3rd musician for the reception fit our needs perfectly. Our wedding day was filled with great music adjusted appropriately for the different events of the day, music selections which were enjoyed by all 3 generations of guests, and entertainers who looked like they were having as much fun as we were.

Thank you Terry!

Best regards,
